Day 4--Now With Less Bitterness

Today's prompt:  What advice would you give your fifteen-year-old self?

Whew!  So, yesterday was a grump day for me, complete with grousing and grimacing and snarking.  I wasn't particularly angry, just grumpy and when it got to the end of the day and I hadn't posted my NaBloWriMo post for the day, I really just let it all hang out.  Insanely.  Honestly, it was like I was a crazy person.

For the record:
  • I do not feel stressed out by NaBloWriMo.  Having almost EIGHTY folks to hang out with is awesome and while, yes, I wish we had new buttons, I'm not wigging out over the fact that we don't.  I'll get to them.
  • I'm not overdoing it.  My tendency is actually to UNDERdo it, so having NaBloWriMo as the frames of my day (prompt in the morning, post in the evening) actually spurs me to do stuff.  Wish I could make fiction writing my frame.  (This might be a light bulb moment.  I'll keep you posted.)
  • You all, with your support and defenses and soothing words, are so cool.
  • The blog feed thing is making me nuts.  A, it lost Selma, which is absolutely not okay.  And B, it won't recognize my Mama, which makes me crazy.  I still don't have any reasons why.  I suggested to my Mama and now suggest to everybody else, to post links to your posts to the Facebook page if you're having problems with this.
Okay.  Go have good days and stop worrying about me.  I've already cleaned the bathroom, which I was amused to discover is better than being awakened by a nine-year-old weirdo at four o'clock any day.  So I'm all good.

I am so busy, I forgot about the FB page. I need to start posting there. I'll try to get to it tomorrow. Tuesdays are not good for any personal work for me in the evenings, because of The Roller Derby.

I'm not on facebook. I have been checking out the other bloggers on your sidebar. Works fine.

I like today's prompt. I post early so I think I might use it for tomorrow.

I just use the side bar too. Facebook and I don't always get along. ;)

Sorry you had a rough day yesterday.

No rush on the buttons, but I wanted to tell you that I adore the pocket watch one from last year. If you wanna make one like it for this time. Pretty please! :) But no hurry. :)

re: the feed, it also seems to think that the entry I posted 5 minutes ago was posted 5 hours ago. So maybe it's not losing people, so much as temporally displacing them? Idk. I'd be happy to try and troubleshoot what I can, If you'd like.

Lissa at A Chance of Sunshine has made a Gorgeous nablowrimo button for herself. She's letting me use it and I'm crediting her and linking back to her. I can't imagine a better button. I don't know what the politics of buttons are, but she is a great designer.

LISSA! I love the button! Please do email it to me so I can put it on the blog. I'll probably do a few, too, but yours is absolutely adorable.

I just thought I would mention that I am not seeing my blog on the list. I emailed it a couple days ago and figure it is probably the blogger glitch that has eaten it..but I am still playing along. :)

You know, these prompts make me think two things. First of all, the word prompt (*snort*) is funny to me because I'm Norwegian. Why, you say? Well, the Norwegian word for "fart" is "promp". So there is that.

The second thing, though, is that I feel an urge to reply to the prompt (*snicker*) in the comment section here. Not because they are not good prompts (*cackle*) that should inspire good blog posts, but because I often already wrote a blog post that day. So.... In reply to today's prompt (HAHAHAAHAHAHA!): Dear 15-y-o me - be a little more confident. Actually, ear current-day-me - be a little more confident. There. That was needed.

Prompt. *falls off chair*

Cruella,

You can always use the PROMPT for the next day. It doesn't have to be for the same day--you can "write ahead" and schedule the post for when you want it.

PROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMPT!

NaBloWriMo is fun, and it's helping me get back into blogging regularly!

I know those grumpy days - I have them quite often lately. Think I need a holiday... hehe
